About · Hello there 👋

An independent designer
for SaaS & industrial, since 2020.

I'm Mihai Gavrila, a designer & developer based in Bucharest, working with software teams and industrial businesses across Europe & the US. I do one thing and I try to do it well: ship websites and apps that don't get in the way of good products, or good companies.

With over 5 years as an independent designer & developer, I've helped SaaS startups and industrial businesses across Europe & the US build value through strategic design and high-quality websites, the kind that hold up after the demo's over.

I started out doing social-media work for Romanian businesses while I was still in school, talked my way into a few web projects, realised I liked the building more than the marketing, and never really looked back.

Today I work two parallel tracks. SaaS, early-stage teams launching marketing sites, growth-stage companies tightening their pricing and product pages. And industrial, manufacturers, equipment suppliers, oil & gas service companies, freight forwarders, wholesale distributors. Different audiences, same craft: a calm site that wins serious clients.

I take on roughly one project at a time, six to ten projects a year, and I write everything I learn into a journal that I sometimes publish.

If you're building software or running a serious B2B operation and you need a site that looks like the work is in good hands, that's the work.

Principles · how I work

Three things I try not to compromise on.

01

Clarity over cleverness.

If a visitor needs to scroll twice to understand what your product does, the design has failed. I'd rather ship a quiet, obvious site than a "clever" one nobody understands.

02

Built for the buyer.

A SaaS site has to convince a PM in 30 seconds. A manufacturer's site has to convince a procurement lead the company is serious. Different jobs, same starting question: who's actually reading this, and what do they need to believe?

03

You own everything.

No lock-in, no hidden retainers. I hand off documented projects with Loom walkthroughs so your team can take it from here, and bring me back when you actually want to.

Career · 2020 → today

A short timeline.

2026Now
Expanded focus to industrial & B2B
After five years almost exclusively in software, started taking on manufacturers, equipment suppliers and oil & gas service companies. Same playbook, very different domains.
2024Pivot
Shifted focus from agency work to product & B2B
After 25 projects across industries, narrowed down to what I genuinely care about: software products, industrial businesses, and the teams shipping serious work.
2022Scale
Started shipping no-code builds at scale
Built a repeatable system for taking projects from Figma to live in under 6 weeks. Got serious about no-code as the right tool for marketing sites.
2020Start
First freelance gigs while in school
Social-media work for local Romanian businesses, then web design for the same clients, then full sites, then this.
