Clarity over cleverness.
If a visitor needs to scroll twice to understand what your product does, the design has failed. I'd rather ship a quiet, obvious site than a "clever" one nobody understands.
I'm Mihai Gavrila, a designer & developer based in Bucharest, working with software teams and industrial businesses across Europe & the US. I do one thing and I try to do it well: ship websites and apps that don't get in the way of good products, or good companies.
With over 5 years as an independent designer & developer, I've helped SaaS startups and industrial businesses across Europe & the US build value through strategic design and high-quality websites, the kind that hold up after the demo's over.
I started out doing social-media work for Romanian businesses while I was still in school, talked my way into a few web projects, realised I liked the building more than the marketing, and never really looked back.
Today I work two parallel tracks. SaaS, early-stage teams launching marketing sites, growth-stage companies tightening their pricing and product pages. And industrial, manufacturers, equipment suppliers, oil & gas service companies, freight forwarders, wholesale distributors. Different audiences, same craft: a calm site that wins serious clients.
I take on roughly one project at a time, six to ten projects a year, and I write everything I learn into a journal that I sometimes publish.
If you're building software or running a serious B2B operation and you need a site that looks like the work is in good hands, that's the work.
If a visitor needs to scroll twice to understand what your product does, the design has failed. I'd rather ship a quiet, obvious site than a "clever" one nobody understands.
A SaaS site has to convince a PM in 30 seconds. A manufacturer's site has to convince a procurement lead the company is serious. Different jobs, same starting question: who's actually reading this, and what do they need to believe?
No lock-in, no hidden retainers. I hand off documented projects with Loom walkthroughs so your team can take it from here, and bring me back when you actually want to.
Two slots open for May–Jun 2026. First call is free, and useful even if we don't end up working together.
